Fresh from the dyepot and on to the spindle "Peacock Feather" returns. This time the colorway is extra bright because it is going to get an overdye before the rayon is plied with it. Also another teal color will get plied with this for a two ply, then the overdye, then the rayon. For a triple process....hence the name triple dye. I've done this triple dye before and sold all of it. It's expensive because of the processes but the effects are really fun. So today I spun a little on my cherry spindle just to play around but I'll do all the spinning on my Schacht or my Lendrum Saxony.
This was one of the first skeins of Peacock Feather.
The new colorway is going to be brighter. See the little specks of sparkle that comes from the final step when the rayon which is very fine is plied with the merino. This was my first attempt and it was only a 2 step process. Later I added the third color but I don't have a photo of that skein it's lost in the computer abyss when my hard drive died. Any way I'll post the final skein when I get it done. Oh, the elusive peacock feather yarn. A fun challenge.
