Ok I'm trying to select beads for my two Celaeno Shawls designed by Rosemary Hill aka Romi. I am in love with this little shawl and I just can't seem to stop casting on for it. So I have 2 going and both are ready to start the lace very soon. I decided to add beads to just the lace section and now I'm going through my bead stash looking for the perfect match. I'm not there yet. Getting close. I have 3 ideas for my Firefly colorway which is the rusty coppers, greens, golds and browns and I have 4 options for my Into the Mystic colorway which is the teals, blues, purples, greys and greens. I just can't decide.
Choice #1 is a copper bead it looks great but I'm hoping it will show up.
Choice #2 is a multi colored gold with greens but the violet does not work.
Choice #3 is dark greens and golds. This might be the one.
Then the "Into the Mystic" is really a tough one. Here is choice #1. Blues, greys,
silvers and purples.
Choice # 2 is a lighter blue with purples and teals.
Choice #3 is a dark purple with teal tints. Hard to see but looks good on the knitting.
Choice #4 Looks similar to 3 in the picture but it has dark greens and blues and purples.
See my dilemma :) Oh well, at some point I'll make up my mind and just grab the crochet hook and go for it. You really can't tell sometimes until you actually knit them on and then it becomes more clear. I want them to show up of course but I don't want too much contrast. I've just recently started beading my shawls. It is so addictive! I don't bead them all but it is really fun to add a little bling once in a while. And this pattern was designed for BLING! BLING! BLING! I love it. Another great way to get to play with color. And the plus side is it's not messy! and I don't have to fire up the dyepots to do it. But you know me, I'll probably start dyeing yarn to go with the perfect beads I found. It's a sickness, really it is. I just can't help myself. But before that happens I'm still looking for that perfect bead for these 2 lovely little jewels. It's a rainy day today and I'm curled up with my knitting and beads and I'm a happy camper. Autumn is here and the cool air is so wonderful after a really hot summer in the dye studio. So it was worth the wait, my most favorite time of year is finally here and what better way to enjoy it. A cup of Java, a beautiful shawl pattern and beads rolling all over my desk. So help me out if there is a bead color that you like best let me know.
