I stumbled upon a group of knitters that are doing gloves that are really diverse and inspiring. It's a knit-a-long but you choose what you want to do etc. That is a knit-a-long that I could possibly do. I've never signed up for knit-a-long because they always seem too structured for me. With work and life and everything...all the deadlines at work I just didn't want to add more deadlines to my life. But I like to see what people are doing in groups so I lurk around alot but never sign up. Another GLOVE KAL if your interested. This group is knitting a beautiful pair of fair isle gloves designed by Karen she has a pdf download available. These gloves are lovely, tons of color, pattern and a real treat.....eye candy. So have I cast on yet? No....I'm still in that wonderful beginning stage of gathering ideas and inspiration. This is my favorite part of designing. The what if stage. So I'm going through my library and I ran across a little gem of a book that I got last year. I think it is out of print but if you can find a copy it's well worth adding to your library. Gloves of Lithuania Minor it's written in English and what I believe is Lithuanian. The first part of the book is Lithuanian Gloves in Lithuania Minor and the second part is Fancy Works of Klaipeda Area Women. There are no patterns with instructions but it is full of charts and history and examples of gloves and mittens from the region.

If you notice on the cover that there is the number 3. It looks like this was a third book in a series but I have not found any other information to confirm that theory. I'm still looking for the other 2. If you have any great books on gloves and mittens drop me a line and let me know about your favorites. I'm always looking for those little gems hiding out there.
